Apostles of the Interior Life

We are consecrated women.
The Apostles of the Interior Life are a community of women totally consecrated to God in chastity, poverty, and obedience. We were founded in 1990 by a priest from the Diocese of Rome, Fr. Salvatore Scorza. Our mission is implied by our name: Apostles from the Greek word meaning to be sent and Interior Life in reference to the life of God within us. As such we are sent to speak with others about the life of God within them and walk with them in their journey towards Him. We do this through evangelization, retreats, parish missions, meditations, and spiritual accompaniment.

Our apostolate includes meditations.
In preparation for this we each study two years of Philosophy and three of Theology at a Pontifical University in Rome, and those who have finished are committed to continual personal intellectual formation.

Knowing that we can never give that which we don't have, we live a rich prayer life adding up to about four hours a day. This includes the Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, a half hour meditation with the Word of God, the prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours, and spiritual reading.

Community life is very important for us as we seek to live Jesus's new commandment of love in the most concrete way starting with those closest to us. We share meals, often pray together, and spend about an hour of recreation time with each other every evening.

Each house seeks to spend quality time together.
